Methods of Payment Accepted
- You may pay for your treatment services directly by cash or check. Private pay clients who pay at the time of service will be given a $30 per session discount as we do not have the cost of billing your insurance. You may also discuss a payment plan with your therapist at your first appointment.
- Health Insurance payment is accepted. We work with many plans and you may call to discuss your specific plan benefits with our office staff. We will verify your benefits prior to the first appointment so you will know what your portion of the cost may be. Please be prepared to give your insurance numbers to our office staff when you call if you choose this option.
For your consideration about health insurance
Some plans allow you to choose any licensed provider for mental health services. Other plans require you to choose someone from their preferred provider panels or their contracted providers. We have contracts and/or preferred provider memberships with a number of health plans including: Medica/United Behavioral Healthcare, Behavioral Healthcare Providers, Preferred One, Blue Cross, U-Care, America's PPO, Champus, Medicare, Medical Assistance and others. Not all of our therapists have contracts with all of these companies; based on your insurance and choice, we will inform you regarding which therapists your plan will cover.
Additionally, some insurance plans have "in-network" benefits and "out-of-network" benefits. If you choose "in-network", you will have the lowest level of co-payment or cost to yourself. Most "in-network" plans require that treatment plans for your care be sent to them; based on your symptoms and the treatment plan, they will determine the extent of treatment to be provided you. We have good relationships with these organizations and are happy to work with them if this is the option you choose.
If you have the choice of "out-of-network" benefits, generally you will have a slightly higher co-payment and possibly a deductible. In return for the higher cost, there are no treatment plans sent to your insurer; decisions about your treatment remain with you and your therapist, although there may still be a case review at some point.
We will inform you of your options and help you make the best choice that fits your situation.
